In October, Getz Healthcare Thailand successfully held the Intermediate TMS Course for Neuro-Rehab: GetzInsight 2nd TMS Certificate Course in collaboration with the Royal College of Physiatrists of Thailand. The event took place at the Siam @ Siam Design Hotel, Bangkok, on October 17-18, 2024.

We were honored to host six esteemed speakers, including:

• Dr. Somrot Phonglamai, Physiatrist, Brainwell Medical
• Dr. Komwudh Konchalard, Physiatrist, Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society
• Dr. Pakorn Wivatvongvana, Psychiatrist, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University
• Dr. Rabkwan Phattranonuthai, Neurologist, Ramathibodi Hospital
• Dr. Peerada Eurcherdkul, Physiatrist, Ramathibodi Hospital

Additionally, Martin Bublat from Localite, Germany, facilitated a neuro-navigation workshop on localization techniques. The event attracted 47 participants, including neurologists and physiatrists, aiming to enhance their expertise in using TMS as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool.

The course opened with a welcome address and continued with two days of intensive lectures and hands-on practical sessions. Day one focused on the role of TMS in stroke recovery, spasticity management, and motor control, providing valuable insights through case studies and research findings. On day two, the course delved into advanced topics such as TMS applications for cognitive impairment, gait, and balance problems in stroke patients.

The interactive nature of the course allowed participants to engage in practical sessions where they learned diagnostic techniques such as motor hotspot localization and motor threshold determination. Each day concluded with a panel discussion and Q&A session, promoting in-depth discussions and collaborative learning. The event wrapped up with an examination and certification, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to apply TMS effectively in clinical neuro-rehabilitation settings.
